Together with the HVAC&R industry, RRA has recovered and safely disposed of

10,677,993KG

of refrigerant gas, reducing their environmental impact.

Let’s keep it up.

About

Through collection and safe disposal of recovered refrigerant, Refrigerant Reclaim Australia ensures surplus and unwanted refrigerants don’t harm the planet.

Every KG counts

Recovering even small amounts of refrigerant makes a big difference, preventing harmful emissions.

Refrigerants

Fluorocarbon refrigerants are colourless, odourless gases. They are generally stable, non-flammable low toxicity substances. Their molecular stability leads to them having a long life in the atmosphere.

Education

The HVAC&R industry have already prevented the destruction of more than 10 million tonnes of stratospheric ozone. Our education resources empower and demonstrate how you can make a big difference.

WRD was created to raise awareness about the importance of refrigeration technologies in everyday life and to raise the profile of the HVACR industry. To commemorate this special day, Refrigerant Reclaim Australia (RRA) issued a statement highlighting the important role of technicians in the Lifecycle Refrigerant Management process. “Refrigerants are everywhere, cooling our homes, preserving our food, and supporting critical industries and infrastructure,” the statement said. “However, little light is shed on the individuals and the skills required to ensure refrigerants are not simply released or discarded but safely recovered, collected, transported, and destroyed at end-of-life.
Recently, a team from Refrigerant Reclaim Australia (RRA) went on a field trip to Cement Australia to witness first-hand how refrigerant gases are safely and effectively destroyed.
Refrigerant Reclaim Australia general manager, Kylie Farrelley, reports on the 36th Conference of the Parties to the Vienna Convention and the 36th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol, held in Bangkok.
